Group Finance Manager and Company Secretary - Mr Anthony Begovich, BBus, CA
Mr Begovich has over 13 years experience in corporate and compliance reporting and has also developed wide ranging operational, financial and analytical skills.Anthony was previously with a big four accounting firm where he spent more than ten years specialising in the energy and mining sector with postings in Sydney, London and Jakarta.
Anthony is a Chartered Accountant with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Finance.
Project Manager, Kylylahti - Mr John Brodziak, BE, CP (Engineering)
Mr Brodziak is a civil engineer with 35 years experience in the management of project development and construction projects. John is responsible for the management of the Kylylahti Feasibility Study and will manage the front end engineering, construction and commissioning of the project.John has worked previously for Rio Tinto in Canada and in numerous mine development projects in Australia with Portman Mining, Hancock Prospecting and others.
General Manager Operations - Mr Campbell Baird, BEng (Mining)
Mr Baird is a Mining Engineer with experience in open pit and underground mine operations management, planning, optimisation and design, implementation of leading edge mining technologies, project management and troubleshooting of under performing mining operations. Campbell has worked with WMC at Kambalda nickel, Mt Morgans Gold Mine with Homestake, Northparks and Iron Ore Company of Canada with North Limited. For the last five years Campbell has been a Senior Consultant with Steffen, Robertson and Kirsten (SRK) and has been intimately involved in numerous feasibility studies in various commodities around the globe.
General Manager, Finland - Mr Jarmo Vesanto, MSc (Geology)
Mr Vesanto is Vulcan’s lead manager in Finland. Jarmo has 24 years experience with Outokumpu and has expertise in exploration and mining around the globe, particularly in base metals.Jarmo was District Manager for Outokumpu in Timmins, Ontario for four years where he was involved in the discovery or development of a number of nickel deposits including the Montcalm nickel mine. He also spent six years in Australia initially at Thalanga Cu-Zn mine, and later on he played a key role in the discovery of the high grade Silver Swan nickel discovery near Kalgoorlie whilst seconded to MPI.
Exploration Manager - Mr Nicholas Walker, BSc (Hons) (Geology), MSc (Geology)
Mr Walker is a geologist with practical experience in the organisation and participation in a diverse range of exploration activities at various levels, including grassroots, brownfields, pre-feasibilities and near mine resource delineation.Nicholas graduated from the University of Western Australia and joined Outokumpu as a project geologist. This saw him continuing to work throughout Western Australia, before transferring to work as a mine geologist at the Mullikkoräme and Pyhäsalmi zinc-copper mines in Finland. For the five years prior to joining Vulcan, Nicholas acted as a senior exploration geologist at Boliden's Tara mine in Ireland, delineating significant extensions to the mine.
Mining Manager, Finland - Mr Seppo Tuovinen, MSc (Mining)
Mr Tuovinen is a mining engineer with over 10 years experience in Finland. Seppo’s most recent experience has been as Underground Mine Manager at the Hitura Nickel Mine in Finland. Seppo has experience within the Finnish mining industry of opening and operating mines, managing contractor and owner operator workforces and is experienced in areas such as underground paste fill. Seppo’s role as Vulcan’s Finnish mining representative is to provide the operational skills required to commence and commission the Kylylahti Mine.Engineering Manager - Bradley Brown, BE, GradDipMetall, GradDipM
Brad is an Engineer with experience in the development and operation of mining and mineral processing operations. His technical capability is supplemented by expertise in project and construction management at all levels from conceptual development to site construction and commissioning.
Brad has worked for mining companies such as WMC, mineral processing technology suppliers such as Outokumpu and engineering and construction providers such as AEC and Roche. The various roles have covered local and international projects.
